Cretan Wine
Tasting
Cretan Wine experience. The vine has been systematically cultivated in Crete for around 4,000 years! No wonder the oldest wine press (3,500 years old) was found in the region of Vathipetro. Vine-growing and winemaking have continued uninterrupted throughout the ages. The Law Code of Gortyn—an ancient city in the south of Crete—is the oldest legal text in Europe and includes the first set of rules on vine-growing.
